I’m a healthy 24 year old male and I don’t need/want healthcare insurance coverage right now. Will I be forced to buy it?

Ok, Mr. Healthy, but you are an individual first and foremost. You have been “mandated” to purchase healthcare insurance. It is not about your family anymore, it’s about the individual. You may choose to “opt out” and with that you are subject to paying the penalty, as per SCOTUS in June 2012. The penalty will be a percentage of your income determined by the IRS when you file your taxes. The IRS will tell you what your penalty is. If you disagree you may file a grievance, but only after you pay the penalty first.
