A Word From Kathleen Bedard LPC

Stability.Mentor.Leadership.

Hi I'm Kathleen Bedard LPC and I focus on children, teens, and families in the area of grief and the support that's needed during those times. Because of my own family history, I have a special place in my heart for adolescents and the problems they face during that period of their lives. I do this work both individually and as a family unit.

What Makes Me Tick?

I've been interested in what makes people do the things that they do and the connections between our thoughts and our behaviors all my life, especially the biology behind it all. This interest led me to study then teach high school biology and chemistry for 10 years.

Throughout my life, practicing my faith has influenced my thoughts and decisions. Believing as Psalm 139:13-14 tells us, “You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made”.

My Passion

Faith and family have enriched and formed my life. Over the last 30 years, raising three sons with my amazing husband has been the richest joy of my life. Both the classroom and the kitchen table have challenged me to deepen my understanding of the connections between our thoughts and behaviors. How do we as parents best prepare our children for the challenges that the world will bring?

Practice, Practice, Practice!

The foundation of faith gives me a perspective that throughout the challenges of life there is hope. Hope for change in a relationship, hope for calm when anxious, hope for peace when grief overwhelms, hope for change in an addiction, hope for connection when loneliness arrives. Active in faith practice with my husband at Saint Francis of Assisi in Frisco, I have volunteered teaching faith formation, supporting our parish Boy Scout troop, and currently I am on the leadership team for Stephen Ministry. As I connect with and support the needs of others, I see God’s hands at work. This is my hope!

Putting into practice the belief that each of us is created in God’s image, body, mind, and spirit, lead me into professional counseling. Come and explore with me how wonderfully you are made!
