Speaker:  John Mongogna of  Wright Ginsberg Brusilow

Topic:  “Your Liability/Malpractice Insurance and The Holes Within”

You might be surprised to learn that your malpractice/liability insurance doesn’t cover everything. Find out what’s covered, what’s not, and what you might want to consider doing to mitigate your risk.

Business Setup 101: Superheroes, Superpowers, Super-tools!

To the citizens of Gotham City, Batman is their hero. In fact, to some, their superhero! He makes use of many tools in his war on crime: intellect, detective skills, science and technology, wealth, physical prowess, martial arts skills, an indomitable will, fear, and intimidation.

But “unlike most superheroes, he does not any superpowers.”                      (“Batman,” par. 2)

To the clients in your practice, you are their hero and to some, their superhero! Like Batman, you also make use of many tools in your practice:

  • Education, degrees, and licenses
  • Listening skills
  • Technology
  • Knowing right from wrong and virtue from vice
  • A wonderfully nice personality
  • An indomitable will to help others

And yet, like Batman, you too possess no superpowers. In the real world of the mental health profession (outside of Gotham City), all of your skills and tools will not make you impenetrable to the “bad guys,” nor to bad things happening to you and your practice! Unfortunately, bad things happen to good people, even to great people, even to heroes! When a complaint or a lawsuit is rendered against you, you need MORE than Batman tools and skills to be prepared!

Business Setup 101:  Protect and Defend

The heart and soul of your business rests in proper and safe set up. During hours three and four of the symposium, John Pearce and John Mongogna from Wright Ginsberg Brusilow will give powerful, back-to-back sessions reviewing key issues of proper business set-up, as the days of sole proprietorship/DBA are gone.

Their first presentation will look at choice of entity, business warning signs, and the litigation process. In the second half they will examine specific issues for the mental health professional to understand more implicitly as they relate to your $1Million/$3Million Malpractice Liability policy. You may be surprised to learn that your malpractice/liability insurance doesn’t cover everything! Find out what’s covered, what’s not, and what you might want to consider doing to mitigate your risk. They will review real story events that will help you have a clearer understanding of the required malpractice coverage omissions.

These two men are the true “defenders” of corporate and legal scenarios that will give you helpful information and provide an inventory to determine the strength of your private practice. With the information they share, you’ll have the tools you need to prepare for anything that comes your way!

Does Batman have superpowers? Neither do you! Get the “super-tools” you need to be ready to defend yourself!
